Technical Module Review Part III
Promotional design for a Swiss company, Mettler Toledo! |
Mettler Toledo have conquered 3 days session with BeST participants in covering bio-instrumentation course for technical module. So how Mettler Toledo helped us in biotechnology??? The products have been offered by them such as chemical reactor, automatic titrator, automatic lab reactor, real time analytics, one-click water determination, portable densito and refracto, etc. Wah, seems like they are kept removing all those manual procedures right? An auto-titration may take longer period to finish but more accurate compared to manual titration. One-click water determination has came together with secure PC software (LabX) and GLP compliance. Liquid Physics Excellence is a unique concepts for the quality control of liquids. Easymax (automated lab reactor) is a window to your chemistry in research and development for small scale production. The real time analytics such as FBRM (focused beam reflectance measurement), PVM (particle video microscope), and ReactIR-In situ Mid- FTIR (monitoring bilological reactions). Combined pH electrode and conductivity sensors with various membranes and sensors are also offered by them. Last but not least is a RAININ LTS (Pipet-Lite) as well as RFID (manual of RAININ) which are the pipettes produced by Mettler Toledo. Moreover, we are briefly explained about pH and conductivity measurements, good pipetting technique, weighing applications, online measurement, process plant controls and production weighing technology. Thanks a lot for a new info since I am more familiar with Eppendorf before.

Technical Module Review Part II
Frankly speaking, too much classroom sessions were really like my university time. Huh, those days are bored enough but still my friends and I managed to cope with. The content somehow have helped us to be excited on we are going to listen next. Here, the summary on what I went through for 8 days. How bored the topic it was but the general knowledge still can be gained form all those speakers. The clinical research information was good enough for me to realize that the career opportunity in particular study was available in Malaysia. Credit to CReST EvendZ (CE).

Technical Module Review Part I
Creativity and Innovation.
Invention and Business.
How loser I am compared to them, yes the speakers and Dr. Barjoyai Bardai is one of the people I impressed. My degree's scroll is slowly turning into a piece of blank paper, nothing to be proud of. Huh, is it like I did nothing for 3 years back or is it like I had work out for the ticket where I'm standing today. The terms of Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Spiritual Quotient (SQ), Creativity Quotient (CQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ) were quite familiar to me but the Persistence Quotient (PQ) term was introduced by him in the creativity session. I do realized all new ideas are wrong ideas since anything logical or good was not new ideas. Then, one of the life's philosophy is to accept all the wrong ideas in order to be creative. It depends either to make the familiar strange or to make strange familiar.
The creativity which is juxtaposition of ideas was means nothing with no innovation since the innovation can be described as the current actions to solve the future problems or simply said, to make new idea workable. The process to bring new ideas into life was by reducing concepts to practices. The innovation itself is influenced by logical thinking as well as customer judgement. Nevertheless, ego is controlling our thinking and in order to screen our new ideas, the ego should be controlled. The highlights of the session: Six Hats (+ 1: Grey Hat) Thinkings, Doodling, Strategic Canvas and Break-even Analysis.
Invention and Business.
First and foremost, we need to force the relationship in order to produce a product since an invention is a conversion of knowledge into money. The invention can be classified either important or interesting. Thus, for the invention to become an innovation it must succeed in the marketplace. The entrepreneurs will spend time and effort not money since they need to think smart to cut the variable cost in business. The highlights of the session: S-curves, NABC Framework, Elevator Pitch and 7 Sources of Business Ideas. The case study was Nothing Unique to Offer. Yeah, credit to Dr. Roland Xavier for the awesome session.
