Communication Module Review Part I

Dear you,

Thanks for reading. I do promise to update this blog, if promise is a debt, then for sure work on is a must. I'm done with the communication module with no absent. So, the review is more on what I jotted down for each topic.

Fatimah.

The Finale-Presentation.
Most of us have done their best on the presentation. I do love to listen a feedback from our trainers. Either comments or recommendations just like a reward on what we have prepared with. Yes, good comments equal to a big reward for a good as well as all out preparation and presentation. I do hope that our proposals will be the solution of the future problems especially my group (Chimera) proposal, fatty acids from the microbes.

p/s:most of quiet people are either not good enough in projecting their voice or no exact word in expressing themselves but beware of them.

Credit to Khalida for the picture, I do love this.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
I did the Q&A test before to determine which group I belong to but this NLP session needs me to do it in practical. Yeah, I'm belonging to the kinesthetic group (learn best in physical activities). The content was more on how we controlled ourselves regarding the best sense we learn by, the ultimate success formula, daily emotions management, developing true potentials, and etc. However, the topics were just briefly explained  due to limited period plus with some simple activities. My tagline (requested by the speaker) is "walking tall, standing still" (love the movies, lol).

and

Negotiation Skills' Art.
I do not really cleared on what negotiation was all about at first even I managed to google the day before. Then, through the session I realized that negotiation was not a daily conversation but the dialogue between two or more in order to reach an outcome or any decision. Either introvert or extrovert, we still need to understand the concepts in negotiation (Best Alternative to Negotiated Agreement, reservation price, Zone of Possible Agreement, and value creation thru trades) but the concepts are not well practiced during the case session, lol. However, the actions were funny enough to colours our day with Mr. Hisham Karim (the best speaker). Trump-style negotiation is one of the best negotiation style (not the negotiation of Mak cik Landlord and Zaki, rofl). Anyway, thanks a lot Mr. Hisham for the the two days.

info:Egyptians will have their lunch at 4-5 pm and dinner at 10-11 pm.

Presentation Day's Fine Tuning.
The session is conducted by Mr. Abdullah and Mdm. Norliza who were sharing some tips on how to prepare for the presentation day. We sat together in a group to discuss on our proposal. Our group name turned into our company (Chimera Group known as Chimera Solutions Sdn. Bhd.) and same goes to other groups. Frankly speaking, this is what I never did or think before and writing a business proposal is not as simple as ABC, only if we are doing it in frequently. Then, I have to prepare on company background and staffing. How to promote our staffs' qualifications?

Public Speaking-Ecotourism.

Assalamualaikum and a very good morning. Today I'm going to talk about the Penang National Park which currently the world smallest national park. The park is one of the few protected areas on the island. It was declared as national park on April 2003 that covered both forest and wetlands. The park is located at the north-western conner of Penang Island. It is home to many fauna and the turtles. Keep an eye out for the little creatures along your hiking trail. Some of the best hardwood trees can be found here such as Meranti, Jelutong, Gaharu and other flora that populated the park. Moreover, there are two entry points to the park, one is Kuala Sungai Pinang via boat and the another is by hiking from fishing village at Teluk Bahang. Some of the activities carried out are climbing, fishing, swimming, trekking, camping, hiking, wildlife observation, outdoor photographing and just simple enjoying the natural environment which is a combination of forest and sea. For camping and weekends programmes, visitors are requested to seek permission from the management. However, accommodation is not provided in the park. So, visitors recommended to stay at the nearest hotels around Teluk Bahang. Rest stops equipped with the picnic tables are strategically placed throughout the park for your enjoyment. Do remember to wear comfortable clothing, good walking shoes and brings lots of drinking water or snacks. Do not go alone, unless you are very experienced and not advisable to start your hike in late afternoon. The park was open daily including weekends and public holidays. The admission is free but you need to register at the registration counter. Please do remember, pick nothing up except rubbish and leave nothing behind except footprints. Thank you.

Mock Interview-Your Answer?
It was almost 6 pm when I walked into the interview room and Mr. Abdullah is waiting for me inside. He asked me to tell about myself at first. Then, he needed me to tell more about my family and my working experience as a trainee cashier at Jusco. The last question was "What do you think about BeST Program?" (the question that should not being asked in the interview). I did answer that I learnt new things here in terms of communication by mixing with others from different background and I hope the next module will give me bigger impact than before. So, is it the correct answer?, I hope so. The interviewee comment, " People might think you are quiet and shy person, but you could talk well actually. So, you need to work on it".

Grooming & Table Etiquette.
Put your time, effort and money into training, grooming, and encouraging your greatest asset - Tom Hopkins. Yes, we are learnt on how to have a professional appearance in terms of clothing, accessories, make-up, personal hygiene, self projection, body language and dinner table etiquette as well. Thanks a lot Mdm. Leilanie Mohd Nor. Please do noticed to remove your whiteheads by using this:

Communications for Leaders.

I do love a small part of Barack Obama speech for Americans, "We are not a blue state, we are neither red state nor white state, but we a united state". Yes, he is a leader who is going beyond audience emotions. I'm wondering that is he born to be a leader and is his emotional intelligence above 85%?. In the session, we assigned with the case studies entitled Xtreme innovative club learning experience. As a result, there are a lot of communication barriers or breakdowns such as cultural and language differences, physical distraction, personal perception, anticipate interaction, emotional interference and poor listening.

p/s:leader who are inspired by you but boss is only told to do so, lol.
p/s/s:people might think you are fool when you are do not talk, but when you are talk it is true, rofl.
